#Trending: Denim

I've really neglected this blog as a beauty and fashion blog. So, in the spirit of the fourth of July or some shit, I will give you an Outfit Of The Day and my comments on ever growing, never dying trend :Denim.

So I flip through the pages of my seventeen magazine and I feel like all I'm seeing is Denim and jeans and all that JAZZ! I felt this trend coming a long time ago, so I feel a bit accomplished as a fashion predictor. ;D But the denim fad has never faded. Jeans are classic, and a staple in a wardrobe. The funny thing is that there is always a love hate relationship with a pair of jeans. Jeans can make you hate yourself when trying them on. And as a bigger girl, jean shopping can be, is hell. It's terrible to try to find something that fits my ass and my thighs. PLUS, I like wearing skinny jeans because any other cut around the ankle makes my leg look bigger, and that is not the look I'm going for.

The thing about Denim, it comes in everything. I personally believe that a girl needs a good jean jacket in their wardrobe. It pairs great with any skirt to complete a look. I've seen many amazing jean jackets DIY'd. Another thing that has gotten the hipsters busting out their studs and bleach are shorts. Oh my gawd, Denim ass shorts. I've seen them studded, dyed, bleached, torn, ripped, ombred, and painted. And it is a interesting idea. You are really able to play with something that is so basic and make it a major statement piece. So if you have not seen enough of these DIY'd jean shorts, behold:

Have you ever became so bored that you felt it necessary to take a pair of shoes the glue scrap denim on them with Elmers glue? Darling, I've been there. And I am over all happy with the outcome. I think they look nice and it actually helped the shoes become sturdier, as they are freaking old. I actually spray painted these shoes silver for homecoming. They turned out great then. I have terribly wide feet and finding a shoe that will fit me is a miracle. My sister had these shoes and since they were stretched out, they fit my feet alright, besides being a size 9 when I'm an 8. But the glue actually helped the become
more solid, therefor fitting me feet.

This is the outfit I planned.
Shirt: Old Navy
Shorts: hand me down from sisters friend, cut to make shorts
Shoes: Explained
Purse: Goodwill

This was my first time try at an outfit of the day. Honestly, I had set up this outfit two days ago and I loved it! This was the first time I wore my DIY's to hell denim shoes. They look like a hot mess close up, but farther away, they look really nice :)

Look who is rocking the hell out of that ridiculous farmers tan. Thank you track.

Dancing it out.

Overall, this was very fun. It actually gave me a lot of confidence. I hardly take pictures of myself. I'm really happy with how this turned out.
Comments and messages are always welcome. My info on how to contact me will be to the right of the screen. So if you wanted to message me on tumblr, go for it.
I'll have an update post up tomorrow talking about what I've reading and what I'm doing this july
